Here is everything you need to know before visiting Matka Canyon near Skopje, a complete guide. It was one of my favorite places I visited on my big Balkan road trip itinerary.

Skopje itself was a very interesting and laid-back destination. I had a great time especially on the beautiful main square and in the surrounding mountains.

Since I had two days in Skopje I also looked for day trips from Skopje and that is how I stumbled upon Matka Canyon.
